On the 9th July 2025 members of Blackwater Valley Friends of the Earth are joining with other environmental groups to meet with our MPs to ask for a bold and fair climate plan. So far we have secured a meeting with Alex Brewer MP, North East Hampshire and hope to meet Alex Baker MP Aldershot either on this day or in the near future.

We have three main demands for our MPs. These are to:

Deliver vital funding to communities hit hardest by climate change here and around the world
Cut bills, back UK jobs, and secure a greener fairer future for all
Restore nature to create a safer, healthier future.

These three demands can be translated into calls for the local area where: biodiversity is threatened by development, air pollution and water pollution; green transition jobs need to be greater focus and inequalities are creating most hardship for those with the least. For example the closure of the Aldershot Bus Station has a disproportionate effect on people without access to a private vehicle and a reliance on public transport.
