On Saturday 20th people from several campaigning organisations including Friends of the Earth, Greenpeace and the Palestine Solidarity Campaign came together to march from Portland Place to Whitehall where we occupied space just outside and within hearing of 10 Downing Street. It was a pleasure to march with other local activists including those from ‘Cut the Ties’ and Friends of the Earth.
The message taken to Downing Street by all the groups on the march was, and is, three fold.
- Tax the super-rich
- Protect workers, not billionaires
- Make polluters pay

The unity and solidarity shown by the people on the march was palpable and energising. Several speakers concluded the march with inspiring and audible speeches. The speakers included Zack Polanski, leader of the Green Party and the Chief Executive of Friends of the Earth Asad Rehman.
BVFoE are very much looking forward to working with Asad and hope for a visit to the local area.
