We are now uploading our results onto the Water Rangers App This is a learning curve as comments in the What’s App group testify – however it is happening and we are slowly working it out. Not all of the testing sites are shown on the website at the moment but this will happen over time. Other news is that we now have a Face Book page All the pictures shown below are taken by BVAR volunteers. The What’s App chat is so positive with lots of comments – a massive learning curve for all or at least most of us.
The Blackwater River
The quotes below the images sum up how dry and warm it has been of late. One can only think and hope that nature is hanging on and doing its very best to manage in the difficult conditions. It is rather a shame that the Himalayan Balsam (an invasive non- native plant) appears to thrive in these conditions.

“Checked the Blackwater at Tice’s today and its barely visible what with the reeds and iris, growth and lack of rainfall, be interesting what the test results will be this weekend.”
“Yeah I’m thinking the same for Aldershot park. It was so low last month , I’m wondering if it will be possible this month ! But will go and have a look”
“just a trickle but i can probably get a sample by getting in the river rather than dropping a jug from the bridge”

The River Whitewater

Wellesley Water Meadows looks a good place to visit. A place where public access to the River Whitewater is available.
