Many institutions are funding coal, gas and oil industries, often using our money. Hampshire County Council Pension Fund (HPF) currently invests millions of pounds in fossil fuels.

Why is this a big issue for Friends of the Earth? According to recent research, making our pensions sustainable is 27 times more efficient in reducing carbon footprints than making individual lifestyle changes.

Persistent lobbying of the HPF, in partnership with UNISON and the Dirty Money campaign, has led to HPF reducing its investment in fossil fuels by millions of pounds, but we demand complete divestment.

BVFoE are part of the Dirty Money campaign which intends to continue the fight.
