This is a late entry to the website but an important one in that the fabulous presentation given by a trustee of the helped set the scene for progress made in forming a network of organisations and individuals committed to making the Blackwater River Valley and its network of tributaries healthier in terms of nature and water quality. Attendees at the presentation including those from The Climate Cafe, Blackwater Valley Friends of the Earth, Extinction Rebellion, Rushmoor Voluntary Services, The Blackwater River Countryside Partnership, the Trust for Conservation Volunteers and many local individuals. A trustee of the River Wey Trust and Water Rangers gave a presentation on the River Wey including information on the Natural History of the Wey, volunteering opportunities and water testing. The talk set the scene for recent developments in terms of creating a body that can be guardians of the Blackwater Valley River and its network.
This group, a growing coalition, now has a name ” Blackwater Valley Action for our Rivers ” BVAR Yet to agreed is whether the V of Valley is silent or not. Further information will follow regarding volunteering and training opportunities.
