The Blackwater Valley Countryside Trust BVCT have selected us for a grant to help us conserve, protect and enhance the watery environment of the Blackwater Valley. This will be a collaborative project with volunteers from the Climate Cafe and other organizations and individuals. This is early days and we have to meet and work out how to use the funding. The pictures show volunteers testing the water of the Blackwater at various sites: Rowhill, Holybush, Farnborough North Station and downstream from the Ash Vale water treatment. Earthwatch provided testing reagents for nitrates and phosphates.

I have started monitoring the village pond in Crondall which is the source of the River Hart. After Storm Bert there was severe foam from agricultural run-off and extremely high rates of nitrates. I will be attending the water testing day in January led by Alistair Young of the River Wey Trust and hope to work with others on collating data on our local rivers.
Thank you Angela for replying. We are trying our best to update the website regularly and so any contributions – photos and posts would be extremely welcome. So far all the writing has been done by me. I struggle sometimes.
